The race cars are to fast to learn how to H shift , IMO .
Start with slow uf1 or similar, you will have loads more time during braking to downshift /upshifts on exit
Don't use the shifter to fast or hard ,learn where the gates are gently.

Blipping the throttle to match revs on downshift helps , but the pedals are not really set up for this out the box,the brake is to soft to proper heel/toe and not close enough to throttle.

Your totally correct about the lag of g-forces ,when messing up a change, your not getting your face slammed against the windscreen to tell you it was messed up .
I found using 'Acceleration shift viewpoint ' settings useful.

Now I use H-shifter for messing around on road cars ,and paddles/auto clutch for racing ,since I don't have a force dynamics rig to give me G

Try a realistic steering wheel angle / lock on front wheels ,as per this thread ,to get real life steering ratio .
Lock on front wheels makes a huge difference to sensitivity.
In the FZR I use 540 steering/21 wheels to give a 12.8:1 ratio .
If you use 25 at the wheel the ratio goes to 10.8:1, much more twitchy.

Dont try and be as fast right away , it will take time .
Patience is a virtue

Quote from Gnomie :Or just open the sound files in the sound recorder program which is included with Windows and simply increase the volume of each file manually.

Your a genius mate , didn't know you could do that .Makes a huge difference

I found some real life values while trying to convince my team mate that his 450 deg steering/25 deg wheel lock for the FZR set up is a bit too sensitive!! (9:1)

Impreza sti - 15:1
Impreza Type RA - 13:1
Impreza Spec C - 13:1
Ford GT - 17.1
BWM Z4 M
Coupé - 12.8:1 (2.8 turns)
BMW Z4 M Roadster - 13.7:1(3 turns)
Ferrari 550 - 13.8:1 (2.1 turns)
Porsche 911 GT3 - 14.9:1 (2.7 turns)
Jaguar XKR - 17.1:1 (2.8 turns)

You're absolutely right. Nasty mistake we made.
We corrected 19xx to 19xx now.
Thank you very much for your attention!

(pressures in psi)

I found this bug while making a set for the GT Series , which forces use of R2 tyres.
Done a few laps in FZR, pressed F12 , tried to increase pressures from 32.5psi at pit stop, to find the pressure settings dropped to 30.4psi as soon as I pressed to increase pressure.
